How did Kawara come about?
After hiking 2650 miles from Mexico to Canada along the Pacific Crest Trail, Jon-Kyle wanted a way of retaining some of the healthier habits developed over the course of the walk. Specifically those related to the phone and social media. There was a lot of time to think about time, and so the idea of using simple intervals and cadence as a medium to help establish and retain those habits came into focus.
How is Kawara priced?
Kawara provides a free limited trial, which includes basic functionality and the ability to create up to 10 cards. To unlock everything, and create unlimited cards, you can subscribe for $1.99/month or $14.99/year. This helps support the continued improvement of the app, and the creation of healthier tools.
What platforms does Kawara support?
Kawara is available exclusively through the Apple App Store on devices running iOS 13+.
Where is my data stored?
Kawara utilizes your iPhone’s file system and iCloud. This means there aren’t any accounts, or separate login credentials to worry about. It also means your data will automagically sync across devices by default, and totally works offline.
What if Kawara disappears?
Don’t worry! Kawara won’t. It has no external dependencies, and does not connect to a proprietary API. It only uses functionality available within iOS. This means as long as Apple supports your version of iOS, Kawara will continue to work, even if California floats off the coast.
I have an idea for a feature.
